An outline of the group’s resources.

Our assets are mainly our strong group of 250 loyal, dedicated and committed full-time workforce; our large fleet of forklifts with a wide range of lifting capacity, from 3-tonnes to 32-tonnes, supported by a group of dedicated and specialized sub-contractors, excellent reputation in the port industry, and also the cargo handling knowledge gained in the past 50 years of the seaport business.

A large number of our management and senior field staff have been with us for close to two decades, with a number of them even spanning up to four decades. The key to our strategic HR plan is to have succession plans in place, in line with our enterprise risk management strategy, to ensure continuity and smooth transition of the Group’s various business units. This is also crucial to our expansion plan into other ports in Malaysia.

Safety standards and culture.

We also have in place, standard operating procedures for all our field staff, including forklift drivers and lashing gangs, as part of our KPI roll out since January 2008.

Our continuous message to our field staff is clear; “Personal safety above everything.” The Board of Directors and the Management has adopted a safety slogan, “Prevention is Better than Cure”, whereby all operational managers and supervisors are expected to anticipate any potential risky activities to be committed by our staff and take proactive action to prevent any accident and/or injury from happening while working in the port areas. All such actions are to be reported to the management and the information will then be disseminated to all staff via the regular dialogue and training sessions.

In line with the above, we provide all our staff with safety equipment, gears, and training, as well as constant monitoring the quality of these safety products to ensure that the safety of the staff is not compromised. We also have insurance coverage that cover key risks e.g. personal insurances for the staff, liability insurances, and risk insurances.

Working towards the continuous improvement of our services.

We are ready to grow with our clients and we commit to continuously increase, upgrade and renew our fleet of forklifts, in tandem with the volume of trade in both Klang and Melaka Ports.
